Miss Earth Pakistan 2009

After successfully achieving the title of
Miss World Pakistan 2008,
AYESHA GILANI
is now participating for achieving
the Miss Earth title.

Established in 2001, the contest of
Miss Earth has gained mush
popularity and appreciation among
the beauty and Fashion admirers
throughout the world. Every year,
about 80 to 90 beautiful ladies
participate in this competition from
all over the world; not only on the
basis of their physical & mental beauty, also on the basis of their knowledge about environmental issues. The winner lady of the Miss Earth competition serves as an Ambassador to environmental protection campaigns worldwide.

This year, Pakistani lady Miss AYESHA GILANI has also participated in this contest and representeing the Pakistan. AYESHA GILANI has also achieved the designation of the Miss World Pakistan 2008; and she is participating in the Miss Earth competition on October 31, 2009, to win this designation.

animation event in Karachi, to be held
from the 29th of Oct – 2nd of November
in Lahore

Speaking about the launch of L’Oréal Paris, Pakistan CEO Musharaf Hai has said “Beauty is about self esteem, confidence and optimism – our vision is to inspire Pakistani women and men with the world’s foremost Beauty brand, L’Oreal Paris”.

L’Oréal Paris has glamourised and transformed the Park Towers Mall in Karachi and later, the Mall of Lahore where they are encouraging patrons and visitors to experience all areas of beauty with their brand, including; personalised skin care attention from leading dermatologists and skin specialists engaging the L’Oréal Paris Dermo Expertise range; Autumn/Winter makeover’s by celebrated stylists’ using the eponymous L’Oréal Paris cosmetics line; finding the perfect L’Oréal Paris hair colour with their unbeatable Excellence and Casting ranges with help from expert colour technicians. Lastly, hair styling tips and advice from L’Oréal Paris stylists using their Elvive and their Studio Line ranges.

The Karachi Mall Animation was preceded by the L’Oréal Paris’ industry debut with an exclusive style show by the iconic Nabila, where two women were transformed live on stage using L’Oreal Paris products. A few words on the heritage and legacy of L’Oréal Paris’ by brand manager Zainab Pasha and an interactive talk by skin specialist Peng Qureshi also featured in the evenings activities. With Adnan Malik as the MC for the evening, Karachi’s debut event revealed and introduced L’Oréal Pakistan’s spokespeople: cutting edge model and musician Meesha Shafi, dynamic actress and model Sanam Saeed, beautician Anusheh Asad and glamorous model and personality sabina pasha, all who wore exclusive Nida Azwer couture. The introduction of these sensational ladies as L’Oréal Paris spokespeople complements the brands’ rich heritage of cultivating spokespeople from the world of arts, fashion and beauty.

L’Oréal Paris’ launch in Pakistan and mall animation events hotly follows their international acclaim for 100 years of sophistication and beauty. Indeed, speaking about L’Oréal, CEO Jean-Paul Agon has said, “we have to move towards what I call ‘accessible innovation’, targeting a very broad customer base.” He says to succeed further, L’Oréal must strive “to keep the spirit and values that have been at the heart of the company for these 100 years…Its about innovation, but its more about spirit – a passion for beauty, a quest for excellence in terms of science, innovation, quality and a real faith in research.”

her collection in this fashion show which was
attended by the overseas Pakistani’s and who’s
who of the city. The event was organized by

Veet- What beauty feels like



‘Veet’ a brand that has been aspirational for
many women globally and is considered to be
the personification of femininity. Over the past
few years many fashion models and actresses
have endorsed the essence of the Veet brand
making glamour a significant part of the ‘Veet’
world. This leads us to the show “Veet- What
beauty feels like” which was held at the PC Marquee
in Karachi on 28th May 2009 showcasing a

celebration of beauty and femininity through
some of the finest ambassadors of Pakistani Fashion. A Catwalk Productions presentation
featuring an exclusive dance performance choreographed by Omar Rahim and collections of Top Pakistani designers such as HSY, Nomi Ansari, Khaadi Khas and Maheen Khan.

HSY certainly set the mood dazzlingly optimistic through his airy Resort collection. The emphasis was on an elegant, fluid silhouette in soft fabrics like chiffon and georgette. Calm and restrained as the collection was there were the eccentric touches that HSY always injects to keep things interesting.
Shamoon Sultan introduced the new Spring/Summer 09 collection from Khaadi Khaas revealing a passion for detail and an unmistakable quest for beauty in its true signature style. An extension of Khaadi, Khaadi Khaas is a line of formal prêt wear for the modern urban woman. Hand-woven Khaadi fabric, mostly silk, lawn and voile has been used, and the collection is dominated by flowy, airy styles, ideal for the typical Pakistani summer. The look was fresh, fun and playful, embracing the spirit of individuality.
Maheen Khan Also considered the matriarch of Pakistani fashion. A consummate trendsetter and visionary, she launched her line over thirty five years ago and continues to set standards every single time. Throughout the years Maheen has made a name for herself internationally. She is presently working on the sets of a new film ‘NOTTINGHAM’ with Russell Crowe and Kate Winslett. Some of Maheen’s clients include H.R.H. Princess Sarwat of Jordan,HRH Princess Badiya El Hassan,Jemima Khan,HRH princess Inis Torlonia of Italy &Princess Salima Aga Khan.




Iman Ali to work in Bollywood




Model-turned-actress Iman Ali has revealed
that top Indian film producers and directors
are willingly offering her various roles to
perform in their movies but she has politely
turned the offers down, owing to the existing
cross-border tension between the two
neighboring countries. She mentioned about
it at a ceremony of an advertising firm.

Iman further stated that she will definitely for
with offers from Indian directors and producers, after the heated air between Indian and Pakistan cools off and things are settled down.
Currently, she is has been hired by two international advertising agencies and is busy working with them.
